The Boston Celtics (32-9), who hope they are now back on track following three consecutive victories, get a rare Friday night off tonight. Meanwhile, all three of the teams that are ahead of them in the race for home-field advantage throughout the NBA playoffs are in action, and none of them has it easy. The top team in the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers (30-7), host the 23-12 New Orleans Hornets. Cleveland will be looking to rebound from an overtime loss last night at Chicago, and also to remain the only undefeated home team in the NBA. The Cavs are 19-0 at Quicken Loans Arena.
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic (31-8), who possess the second-best winning percentage in the East, will visit the Los Angeles Lakers, whose 31-7 record is best in the NBA. Orlando brings a five-game winning streak into the game, as well as the NBA's best record on the road (15-5).
If you're at a loss for things to do on this frigid evening, both of these showdown games will be televised on ESPN, beginning with New Orleans at Cleveland at 8.
The Celtics are back in action against the Nets in New Jersey on Saturday afternoon.
