garnett0123.jpgBoston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has been elected by the fans as one of two starting forwards for the Eastern Conference for the NBA All-Star Game, Feb. 15 in Phoenix. Garnett got 2,066,833, good for the second starting spot alongside LeBron James, and 253,004 votes more than New Jersey's Yi Jianlian (who no doubt benefited heavily from the international vote). Paul Pierce finished fourth in the voting among Eastern Conference forwards. Click here to see the full vote.

It will be Garnett's 12th trip to the NBA All-Star Game, second among active players only to Shaquille O'Neal, who has been there 14 times.

"It's like a good wave, man," Garnett said. "If you've surfed the boogie board, you know you ride it 'til it dies out. And I love boogie boarding. It's all about that good wave and holding on and holding on for dear life. And once it's over, you crash and you go out and try to find the next one."

Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard was the top vote-getter in the league; his 3,150,181 votes were the most ever received by any player. The Celtics' Kendrick Perkins was the second-leading vote getter among Eastern Conference centers, with 621,709. The Celtics' Ray Allen finished sixth in the voting among Eastern Conference guards, with 821,205 votes.

NBA coaches select the bench players for the All-Star Game, and those results will be announced next week.

Here are the starting lineups for both conferences:

Western Conference
