BOSTON -- Lost in all of the excitement of Paul Pierce's huge 22-point, fourth quarter effort against Toronto on Monday was the fact that Pierce surpassed Bob Cousy for second all-time on Boston's free throw made list.
Pierce, who was 12-for-14 from the charity strip against the Raptors, enters tonight's game with 4,630 made free throws. Cousy has 4,621 made free throws. Last season Pierce (5,826) surpassed Cousy (5,753) for most free throws attempted.
Pierce is ranked second on the franchise all-time free throws made and attempted list behind John Havlicek, who made 5,369 free throws on 6,589 attempts during his career with the Celtics.
Pierce is ranked fifth in franchise history with 17,095 points. Havlicek is the franchise record-holder in points scored with 26,395.
