The New York Jets posted the most lopsided victory in the team's history, beating the St. Louis Rams 47-3. With their first win against the Rams in eight National Football League matchups, the Jets (6-3) remained tied atop the American Football Conference East Division with the New England Patriots, who beat Buffalo 20-10. New York visits New England Nov. 13. The 40-0 first-half score at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, marked the Jets' largest halftime lead in the team's 49 seasons. New York scored on all seven of its first-half possessions, on two rushes by Thomas Jones, a catch by Dustin Keller, a fumble return by Calvin Pace and four field goals by Jay Feely. The 44-point margin of victory topped their 45-3 win over the Houston Oilers in September 1988. |
