Mark Feigen of East Greenwich became only the seventh Rhode Islander in the 74-year history of the race to win the New England Cross Country Championships today. (Former Hendricken star Tom Webb was the last Rhode Island boy to capture the regional title in 2005.)

East Greenwich's Mark Feigen won the boys' division of the New England Cross Country Championships yesterday at Derryfield Park, Manchester, N.H. Feigen was timed in 15 minutes, 47.1 seconds over 5,000 meters. In the girls' race, the top Rhode Islander was Coventry's Jenna Riley, who placed 15th overall with a time of 18:58. Hendricken was the top R.I. team in scoring, finishing ninth; La Salle placed third among girls' teams.
