The Dodgers recently offered Ramirez a two-year, $45-million contract that reportedly included a possible third year with a total value of $60 million, but they later withdrew the offer (after it was summarily dismissed by Ramirez's agent, Scott Boras). The purpose of the McCourts' appearance was to announce that the Dodgers charitable foundation will help to build 42 youth fields around Southern California. Here's some of what Jamie McCourt said, according to the Los Angeles Times' Dylan Hernandez: "If you bring somebody in to play and pay them, pick a number, $30 million, does that seem a little weird to you? That's what we're trying to figure out. We're really trying to see it through the eyes of our fans. We're really trying to understand, would they rather have the 50 fields?" 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

The LA Times did a survey. Over 65% of the fans said that the team should spend the money on a big free agent FOR the team and not on fields. Forget to report that part of the story you effing Manny bashing idiots! Enough already.
