Click the play button below to hear Joe McDonald's comments, recorded this morning. He speaks about the all-around excellence of the Tampa Bay Rays in these last three games, why it will be more difficult than ever before for the Red Sox to pull off a playoff comeback, Tampa Bay's similarities to the 2003 Florida Marlins, and Daisuke Matsuzaka's challenge in Game 5.

Here's what Joe said about the way this series compares to the dramatic comebacks in 2004 and 2007:

"It's different this time. In '04 certainly they had a certain chemistry in the clubhouse -- the idiots -- and obviously that worked. Last year against the Indians in the ALCS it worked because they had the pitching to do it. This year is a little different. When the Rays beat up on both of your aces, it doesn't look good. Certainly the Red Sox players said all the right things [after the game] last night. The big thing for the Red Sox, the key thing here, is today being an off day. This way they can get to Fenway Park for their optional workout, kind of regroup and set their sights on winning Game 5 on Thursday. That's been their whole philosophy all along, just win one game at a time. Well, now it's being put to the test."
