Click the play button below to hear Shalise Manza Young's comments, recorded this morning. The topics: Was there anything positive that people associated with the Patriots saw on Sunday? How do the defensive backs avoid getting torched again this week? Is the disappointment building on the team with Matt Cassel? And how much does the offensive line take the blame for Cassel's struggles?

Here are some excerpts from Shalise's comments:

Anything positive? "Bill Belichick did say that the Patriots' run defense was good, and actually he said that he felt that the Patriots were for the most part competitive defensively against the Chargers; it was just those handful of big plays. He wasn't saying that those were not humongous plays in the game. but toe [injury] or no toe [injury], LaDainian Tomlinson is still a dangerous runner; Darren Sproles is still a dangerous runner. ... They held LaDainian Tomlinson in check. ... But it's just those big passes -- you can't recover from two, three, four or five of those plays."

What about that secondary? "Philip Rivers isn't really known for his big arm and big plays like that, but they took some downfield shots, they were really aggressive on Sunday night. And actually, coming in on Monday, Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall for the Broncos, they have that capability also. So they're just going to have to do a better job of knowing everybody's roles, and just staying with their men. There's no way to game plan around it. You just have to do a much better job responding to it."
