BY SHALISE MANZA YOUNG SAN FRANCISCO -- OK, OK, I know I said that I had posted my last entry about Al Davis' charge of the Patriots tampering with Randy Moss last year, but unfortunately, some things take longer to die than others... On this morning's NFL Network Gameday, reporter Adam Schefter said, "Al Davis opened up an entirely different can of worms when he went after the Patriots." In a blog entry on nfl.com, Schefter wrote that Davis will now have to back up his charge of tampering against New England. If he can't provide proof, the Raiders may be fined. At the time of the trade in April of last year and again this week after Davis' comments were made public, Bill Belichick said that Oakland gave New England permission to speak with Moss and his agent about a potential trade and the new contract the Pats would sign him to. |
