Andrade to announce pro boxing debut

Demetrius Andrade, the U.S. Olympian and 2007 world amateur champion, will have a news conference Wednesday at the Dunkin' Donuts Center to announce his pro boxing debut. The 20-year-old Andrade will appear with his new promoters, Joe DeGuardia (Star Boxing) and Art Pelullo (Banner Productios), with whom he reportedly signed an agreement that included a six-figure signing bonus. "He's going to be something special," Pelullo recently told the Las Vegas Review Journal. "He has the talent to be a star like (Oscar) De La Hoya or (Floyd) Mayweather but with his own style. He has that confident swagger, and the more time I spend with him the more I like him."
