St. Raphael pitcher Nick Gaj pitched a complete game, one-hit, six strikeout gem, leading the Wyatt Detention team to a 10-1 semifinal win over New Hampshire in the Junior American Legion New England Regionals. Gaj's batterymate, Albert Bellows led a balanced scoring attack with two hits and two RBI while Matt Simon went 3-4 from the plate and added two RBI and Nouri Florentino went 2-3 with two more RBI. Wyatt faces Greenwich, Conn. Sunday at 1 p.m. at McCarthy Field in West Warwick for the Championship.
