Click the play button below to hear Sean McAdam's comments, recorded this morning. The topics: Last night's sloppy effort by A-Rod and the Yanks, Tim Wakefield coming off the DL and picking up a win, tonight's matchup with Sidney Ponson, the Mark Kotsay deal and J.D. Drew's timeline for returning to the lineup.
Here's what Sean said about last night's game:
"Certainly not A-Rod's finest moment last night, with that key double play against Masterson, some misplays at third, and they were getting on him pretty good [at Yankee Stadium]. It was kind of a sloppy effort by the Yankees and a nice start on the part of the Red Sox to get that first one, and you've got to believe that the pressure's really on the Yankees now."
And about Kotsay:
"Having placed J.D. Drew on the disabled list yesterday, they can certainly use some reinforcements in the outfield. It helps that [Kotsay's] left-handed and can hit right-handed pitching pretty well. He's got a very strong arm. He's played both the corner spots and center field a little bit, so he's versatile and can fill in. It was my understanding late last night that the deal was not completely done, but it was inching toward that, and I think the expectation was that it might get finished today. And, who knows, we could see Kotsay here by tomorrow afternoon, the finale of this three-game series."
