Click the play button below to hear Shalise Manza Young's comments, recorded this morning. The topics: Matt Cassel losing his grip on the backup quarterback job; young linebackers raising eyebrows; and the anticipated return of Junior Seau.

Here's what Shalise had to say about linebackers Jerod Mayo and Shawn Crable:

"Mayo has been getting better and better, almost by the day. And it's a little bit scary, I guess, in a way, because he's admitted that he's basically going on instinct right now, because he really doesn't know the ins and outs of the playbook just yet. As we know, the Patriots at inside linebacker -- it's such a difficult position that it does take time to really master what's expected of you. So if he's playing that well -- you know, that hit he put on [Baltimore's] Ray Rice that popped his helmet off -- and he's just going on instinct right now, I think that speaks well for his promise. And then Shawn Crable, he did well also [on Thursday]. He got his first interception since high school. As always, you've got to temper anything that happens in the second half of the game, because you don't know how many of those guys will actually be on a roster come September, but it's definitely promising."
