According to Newsday's Greg Logan, Providence Bruins head coach Scott Gordon is one of three finalists for the vacant head coaching job with the New York Islanders. Islanders GM Garth Snow interviewed eight candidates and has narrowed it down to three -- former Atlanta coach Bob Hartley, former Toronto coach Paul Maurice and Gordon. On his NHL blog, ESPN's E.J. Hradek writes that Snow should go with the longshot and hire Gordon. |
