The Green Bay Packers, who today will usher in the start of the Brett Favre versus Aaron Rodgers quarterback contest, have hired a man who knows a little bit about dealing with controversy: former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer.
Fleischer, who is now president of a sports communications firm, visited with Packers players at training camp last week. But Fox Sports was the first to report that he has been tapped for a one-month consulting contract by the Packers.
In comments to the AP following his training camp visit, Fleischer said he had spoken to Packers management about a variety of issues, including Favre.
