Monday update: Craybas loses; reaction from Andrade on Sunday bout and Beisel on fourth-place finish Saturday; Sacramone advances to vaulting finals

Rhode Island native Jill Craybas lost to Patty Schnyder of Switzerland, 6-3, 6-2, this morning (local time) in her first-round tennis match at the 2008 Olympics.

andrade081108.JPG-- Providence's Demitrius Andrade (left) said he didn't "think the score was fair" in his 11-9 victory over Kakhaber Jvania of Georgia in his opening boxing match Sunday and says he has "worries with the surroundings and the judges" in the Olympics. But he was never in danger against Jvania, whom he had beaten in the world championships last year, and says he now has "four more fights to bring the gold to Providence, R.I." -- "This one hurt a lot," was Elizabeth Beisel's reaction to her fourth-place finish in the 400 individual medley finals Saturday night local time. But the 15-year-old Saunderstown native added: "[It's] my first Games and I had fun. Everyone had a good race."
