| Brady: Injury not the same as last year's; unsure if he'll play Friday »
The Dodgers hit four home runs in all, including a walk-off by Andre Ethier. They've now hit 22 as a team in 16 games since the Ramirez trade, which is more than double the pace they were on before the Manny deal, according to the Los Angeles Times. Far from destabilizing the clubhouse so far in L.A., he's given the team a new confidence, writes Mark Whicker in the Orange County Register, who says that with Manny's "insouciance and complete lack of self-consciousness that typify Southern California ... he probably should have been one of us all along." Brandon Moss, the outfielder traded from Boston to Pittsburgh as part of the Ramirez trade, continued to struggle with the Pirates, going 0 for 3 yesterday as the Bucs lost to Johan Santana and the New York Mets, 4-0. Moss is batting .193 with a .292 OBP in 16 games as a starter with the Pirates. Craig Hansen pitched an inning of scoreless relief in the game, his sixth appearance with the Pirates. So far Hansen has been charged with three runs, two earned, in 6.2 innings of work with the Pirates. He's struck out just one batter while walking six. |
