BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) - Major League Baseball and ESPN have a signed a new digital rights agreement that will allow the cable giant to put Major League content on multiple platforms including video game consoles and portable players such as iPods. The deal, announced Thursday morning, extends and expands the current agreement through 2013. ESPN says the deal with allow for live game streaming and highlights packages on the Internet and mobile platforms. It will also allow ESPN to develop interactive television programming around Major League baseball content. The Bristol, Conn.-based sports network says it will be able to use MLB content on content download services like Apple's iTunes Store and console game systems such as Microsoft XBox Live. |
