Cranston Western erupted for 13 runs on 14 hits and captured its first win in the New England Regional Little League Baseball Tournament with a 13-1 victory over Camden, Maine, yesterday at Bristol, Conn. Dan Miller and Louis Umberto lead the Cranston offense with two hits and three RBI apiece, while Chris Vicario gave up a run and three hits in three innings of work. Umberto pitched a scoreless fourth inning without giving up a hit. The game was called in the fourth due to the mercy rule. Cranston moves to 1-2 and will play its final game of pool play today at 11 a.m. against New Hampshire. |
