The Cranston Western Little League All-Stars (11-12) held a 7-1 lead going into the sixth-and-final inning but Williston, Vt. scored seven runs in the bottom half of the sixth and clipped Cranston, 8-7, in the first game of pool play at the New England Regional Tournament yesterday in Bristol, Conn. Cranston starting pitcher Louis Umberto was solid through five-and-a-third innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs. Teammates Rob Henry and Dan Miller each went 3-for-4 and combined to drive in all seven runs. Cranston's next opponent will be Shelton, Conn. That game will be tomorrow at 8 p.m.
