Charlie Blanchard, from Wannamoisett, added to his already impressive list of state titles Wednesday when he pulled away to a four-stroke victory in the 25th R.I. Golf Association Stoke Play Championship at Potowomut. The four-time player of the year had rounds of 72 and 68 for a 54-hole total of 2-under 211.

Garrett Medeiros, the only guy to challenge Blanchard into the middle of the final round, took second with two rounds of 73 for 215. It was another three strokes back to Patrick Wasserman and David Sampson, who tied for third. First-day leader George Pirie settled for fifth at 219.

The title is Blanchard's second of the summer. He also won the season-opening Burke Memorial in May.
