Saunderstown's Elizabeth Beisel will swim in her first Olympic event on Saturday morning local time when she competes in the third heat of the women's 400 individual medley. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:02 p.m. Saturday night Beijing time, which, since Beijing is exactly 12 hours ahead of Eastern time, means it will go off at 8:02 a.m. Saturday morning in Rhode Island.
If she qualifies for the final, the medal race will begin at 10:42 p.m. Saturday night Eastern time.
