andrade0814.jpgProvidence welterweight Demetrius Andrade predicted a big victory today, and he just delivered, taking it to Russia's Andrey Balanov for a 14-3 decision. The 2007 world champion now advances to the quarterfinals, where he will face three-time Olympian Jungjoo Kim of South Korea, who easily dispatched the U.S. Virgin Islands' John Jackson this morning.

Today's win by Andrade was much more dominant than his round-of-32 victory against Georgia's Kakhaber Jvania.

Andrade's welterweight quarterfinal will be at 7:46 Sunday morning here in the United States.
