| Rays clinch first non-losing season in history »
The Rams open the 2008 season at home on Saturday against non-league foe Monmouth. Gone are former coach Tim Stowers and his option offense, which relied almost exclusively on the run. New coach Darren Rizzi -- a former URI All-American football player himself -- plans to employ a more traditional attack that balances the pass and the run in an effort to improve on last season's 3-8 record. Monmouth went 4-6 last season. URI's schedule includes home games against nationally ranked teams UMass, UNH and Villanova as well a road trip to FBS team Boston College. |
