Click the play button below to hear Sean's comments, recorded this morning. He discusses Jon Lester's success at getting the ball to Jonathan Papelbon last night, Terry Francona's loyalty to both Jason Varitek and Jacoby Ellsbury, and the strangely high asking price for Brian Fuentes (in the Red Sox' case, Clay Buchholz). By the way, Sean said this morning that Lester felt OK last night after taking that come-backer off his shin, so don't expect it to affect his next start.

Here's what Sean had to say about Fuentes:

"If you're the Colorado Rockies, and it looks like you're not going to be able to make a move and be in contention in the NL West, why hold on to a guy whose going to be a free agent at the end of the year? You're going to finish under .500; wouldn't it be better to lower your asking price a bit and get 85 cents on the dollar rather than have to end up with draft picks for Fuentes? But these things sort of look and sound like a game of chicken, and then it's up to one team to call the other's bluff as we get closer to the 31st [of July, the non-waiver trade deadline]. There are a lot of teams involved in Fuentes -- Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Rays, to name another four in addition to the Red Sox -- so maybe [Colorado GM] Dan O'Dowd thinks he can get some team to blink and give in. But as we get closer, and if he finds that teams are walking away because he's asking too much, then I think it's just smart to come down a little bit in what hes looking for in return."
