Details of the upcoming Bayside Family YMCA Triathlon, from Bayside Y program specialist Edna Kurtzman:

The Bayside Family YMCA annual Triathlon will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 8 am starting from the Barrington Town Beach. Registration on the day of the event will be held from 6 to 7:45 am. The triathlon consists of a half-mile swim, 12-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. Entry fees are $55 for USA Triathlon members and $65 for non-members. The registration fee for a team is $90. There is a $5.00 extra fee for those who register on the day of the race. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers as well as to the top three finishers in 17 different categories, including teams. If attending the triathlon as a spectator or athlete please park at the Nayatt School on Nayatt Road. Transportation will be available to the beach; parking is restricted on local streets and beach to area residents with stickers.
