Welker says Asante chose money over championships

In an AP story primarily about his offseason work helping at-risk children in his hometown of Oklahoma City, Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker had some unkind things to say about cornerback Asante Samuel, who left the Pats as a free agent to join the Philadelphia Eagles: "Asante's a great player, so it hurts not to have a guy like that. But then again, it's part of the business of the game. He chose money over championships, and that’s the way it goes sometimes."
