By KEVIN McNAMARA LOS ANGELES -- Magic Johnson just met the press and says he’s confident that the Lakers can come together and take control of this series in the next two games. Johnson, who is a Laker vice-president and part owner, said the Lakers only "played two good quarters [in the first two games] in Boston. They came back here and played [only] two good quarters in Game Three. They haven’t put together four really good quarters yet." Johnson says he’s thrilled the Lakers and Celtics are renewing a rivalry that dominated his Hall of Fame playing career. The TV ratings for the Finals are up big from last season. Game Two drew an 8.5 national rating on ABC, an increase of 52 percent over last year’s Spurs-Cavaliers series. Ratings for Game Three were up 30 percent. "I’m happy because Boston-L.A. is the biggest stage the NBA could ask for," said Johnson. "Just like when I played, I didn’t want to play anyone else except the Celtics. So come on Celtics, come on Lakers.” |
