Celtics center Scot Pollard, who has been inactive since late February because of a torn tendon in his ankle, was a key member of the 2002 Sacramento Kings team that lost in the Western Conference Finals to the Los Angeles Lakers. The result of that series has been called into question by former NBA official Tim Donaghy, who says that officials working Game Six ignored some personal fouls and made up others under the direction of the league. The Lakers won Game Six thanks in part to a parade of foul shots in the fourth quarter, and L.A. ended up winning the decisive seventh game to advance to the NBA Finals.

Pollard said last night that the possibility that the series could have been fixed has entered his mind, but he also discounts Donaghy's version of events, which were contained in a letter filed by his lawyer. Donaghy pleaded guilty last year to felony charges alleging he took cash payoffs from gamblers and bet on games himself.
