May 21 (Bloomberg) -- Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees will play tonight against the Baltimore Orioles, one day after being hit on the wrist with a pitch.
Jeter is listed in the lineup playing shortstop and batting second against the Orioles at Yankee Stadium. He left last night's Major League Baseball game in the third inning after Baltimore pitcher Daniel Cabrera hit him in the left hand. X- rays showed nothing was broken and Jeter was listed as day-to- day.
New York activated Alex Rodriguez off the disabled list yesterday after the three-time Most Valuable Player missed three weeks with a strained right quadriceps. The Yankees are in last place in the American League East Division with a 20-25 record, and trail the first-place Boston Red Sox by 7 1/2 games.
Jeter is batting .312 with two home runs and 21 runs batted in this season.
