Celtics Survive, 97-92
BOSTON - The Celtics have survived. Bring on the Pistons.
The Celtics have just eliminated LeBron James and the Cavaliers with a Game 7 win at the Garden, 97-92. James did almost everything he could to spring the upset as he poured home 45 points. But Paul Pierce enjoyed the biggest game of his career with 41 points to take the Celtics home.
Pierce hit two free throws with 8.6 seconds left to push a 3-point lead up to a comfortable five. The Celtics' last Eastern Conf. final appearance came in 2002. They'll start the conference finals against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night at home.
