Red Sox AL East champs
The Baltimore Orioles have defeated the New York Yankees, 10-9, on a 10th-inning, two-out, bases-loaded suicide squeeze by Melvin Mora. The loss makes the Red Sox division champions for the first time since 1995. Baltimore erased a 9-6 deficit in the ninth inning on a three-run triple by former Red Sox Jay Payton off Mariano Rivera.
