Wannamoisett's Charlie Blanchard, of Tiverton, has advanced to match play in the 107th U.S. Amateur golf championship at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. Blanchard completed second-round play this morning in the fog-delayed event and shot a 74 for a 144 total. He is tied for 25th place. The top 64 in the 315-player field qualify for match play. The second round is continuing today. |
